Cerebral arteriovenous malformations associated with moyamoya phenomenon.

چکیده
Cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are associated with a variety of alterations in the angioarchitecture of the feeding arteries and draining veins [1-3]. Between January 1985 and December 1988 we examined the angiograms of 97 patients with cerebral AVMs to assess their potential for endovascular treatment. Two patients showed occlusion of major vessels and an associated moyamoya phenomenon at the base of the brain . Vessel occlusion and moyamoya associated with A VMs are reviewed and hypotheses as to their development are discussed.

The Rare Association of Moyamoya Disease and Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformations: a Case Report
A 36-year-old man was diagnosed with a right temporal lobe grade II cerebral arteriovenous malformation (cAVM) and was treated with radiosurgery. At nine months after the cAVM radiosurgery, the patient began to develop bilateral focal narrowing at the M1 segments of the bilateral middle cerebral arteries. The narrowing progressively deteriorated as was demonstrated on longitudinal serial follow...

BACKGROUND Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) with vascular abnormalities, including aneurysms, have been reported frequently. However, the coexistence of AVM and unilateral moyamoya disease is rare. We report herein an AVM patient who presented with acute ischemic stroke with unilateral moyamoya disease and occlusion of the feeding artery. CASE REPORT A-41-year old man was admitted with sudd...

Abstract Background: The Gamma Knife Radiosurgery (GKR) is an established management option for Cerebral Ar-teriovenous Malformations (AVMS). Therapeutic benefits of radiosurgery for arteriovenous malformations are complete obliteration of nidus with minimal neurological deficit. Methods: Radiosurgery was performed between February 2003 and April 2010 at Kamraniye day clinic, Teh-ran, Iran, us...
متن کاملShort Review A Review of Cerebrovascular Surgery in The People's Republic of China
Cerebrovascular disease (CBVD) is very common in the People's Republic of China (PRC). In 8 of 12 large cities in the PRC, CBVD ranked first in frequency as a cause of death. The ratio of aneurysms to arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) was 0.84-2:1, much lower than in the United States (6.5:1). Hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (HIH) is the commonest cause of mortality in patients with CBVD...
